To celebrate 18 years since
To celebrate 18 years since we launched Carpe Noctum at Bradford’s 1 in 12 Club, we’ve invited two of our favourite contemporary bands to duke it out for your pleasure.
CHAMBERS are the two-piece sister doom outfit that have beenrapidly gaining a name for themselves around the UK this past year or so. They’re heading off on a European tour in autumn, but have promised to be back for this hometown show.
COLD IN BERLIN are very much local favourites at The Lending Room, despite hailing from London. They occupy that uneasy hinterland between goth, shoegaze, and full-blown doom metal, and are known for their intense and mesmerising live shows.
This is a co-headliner, with both Cold in Berlin and Chambers playing full-length sets – running order to be announced on the night.
THE GOLDEN AGE OF NOTHING open proceedings with their unique and compelling take on goth. Taking in influences from the Velvet Underground via Tindersticks to the Bad Seeds, they went down a storm at their previous Carpe outing.
As ever, the CARPE NOCTUM club night follows the bands through till 2am, with the request-friendly resident DJs playing goth, post-punk, industrial, punk and dark alternative for the dancefloor.
Doors 7pm, bands from 7:30. £5 admission all night!
The Lending Room is an 18+ venue above the Library pub. Please note that as a first floor venue in a building with a listed interior, there is no wheelchair access. ROAR.
