A double headline bill! RED SUN
A double headline bill!
RED SUN REVIVAL are back at Carpe Noctum for the first time since 2015! The band’s sound is defined by sonorous vocals from mainman Rob Leydon (Voices of Masada, Adoration, Last Jul) ywith intricate, often sparkly guitars which float over driving bass lines and weave amongst haunting violin harmonies, and the drums of goth legend Simon Rippin (Nefilim/NFD/The Eden House/Grooving in Green/etc).
BURNING GATES: following an epic twentieth anniversary reunion tour back in 2016 (which included a very well-received Carpe show), these staples of the mainland festival scene (and many a compilation appearance) are back in force, blowing away the Sacrosanct audience last year. With a formidable back catalogue and a nice line in occasional covers, they play powerful gothic rock with influences from post-punk and the late-eighties goth rock.
HER DESPAIR: an exploration into the mysteries of tragedy, blasphemy, death, and love; literally and figuratively. The mourning of some, the lust of others. Our openers make their Carpe debut, and we reckon they’re one to watch over the next year or so as their profile inevitably rises – definitely worth arriving early doors for!
